NOTICE TO FAYAL VOTERS
Absentee ballots for the General Election to be held November 2, 2010 will be available at the St. Louis County Auditor’s Office in Virginia. If you need an absentee ballot, call 218-749-7104 or stop by the St. Louis County Auditor’s Office, Northland Building, 300 South 5th Avenue, Virginia, MN.
Absentee ballots by mail will be available at the St. Louis County Courthouse, 100 North 5th Avenue West, Room 214, Duluth, MN or call 218-726-2385. You must first fill out an absentee ballot application to obtain an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots will not be available at the Fayal Clerk’s office.
If you have questions, or need an absentee ballot application, call the Fayal Clerk’s Office at 218-744-2878.
Summer Schedule for Fayal Town Board Meetings:
July 6- Regular Meeting Canceled
July 20- Regular Meeting, 7 pm
August 3- Regular Meeting Canceled
August 17- Regular Meeting, 7 pm
Regular Meetings will resume on the first and third Tuesdays of each month starting in September, unless otherwise posted.
FAYAL ORDINANCE #95-3 ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE REQUIRES ALL DOGS & CATS OVER THE AGE OF 6 MONTHS TO HAVE RABIES VACCINATION AND HAVE A FAYAL ANIMAL LICENSE. LICENSES ARE AVAILALABLE AT THE CLERKS OFFICE FOR $5 WITH PROOF OF VACCINATION.
TOWN BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD THE FIRST AND THIRD TUESDAYS AT 7:00 PM IN THE FAYAL TOWN HALL.
Planning Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the town hall.
Public Utilities Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the town hall.
Fire Department business meeting is the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, in the fire hall
The Fire Department has openings for 3 members. Applicants must live within a 10 minute response time from the Fayal Fire hall, be at least 18 years old, and pass a physical and written test. Applications are available at the Fayal Clerks Office or any FD member.

Fire Department

The first Fayal Fire Department was headquarted in Fayal location, which was annexed into the City of Eveleth. This picture was printed in the Eveleth News Clarion on March 1, 1945 with a caption that read:
READY FOR ACTION is this crew manning the first chemical fire engine purchased by the Town of Fayal. In the above picture it is all decorated out for the 1908 Fourth of July celebration. The picture was taken in front of the Dr. Harwood residence, now occupied by the P.V. Burgett family. From left to right are: John T. Johns, Charles Adams, on the truck are Drive Tom Trevarrow and Ferdinand Rutherford; standing beside the truck are Fred Williams and Arthur Cramer.
